Do what makes you happy....

It's a rainy lazy Saturday here in Iowa. The pup is asleep at my feet while I sit and work on homework, blogging, laundry, playing the piano, and watching Iowa Public Television. I love watching the documentaries IPTV has on weekends. I'm currently engolfed in a Women's Documentary called "Who Does She Think She is?" It is truly fascinating. These women in this documentary followed their dreams dispute society, friends, and family telling them they are being selfish. These women are living with so much purpose and drive. It's fascinating to listen to how they found success from pursuing their passions. The road wasn't easy for them then, and it's not easy now, but they all seem so happy to have followed their hearts.

So, I think my goal for myself this week is to stop stressing about the corporate job, finances, or the future; and look for the times in my day when I can pursue my passions and creative outlets. Like music, painting, dancing, laughing, running, yoga. Anything that will give my day energy and joy, and not drain my spirit.

How are you going to take time for yourself this week and do what truly makes you happy?

I think what I've learned the most from pursuing this new career as a D.C.E, is that I CAN do something I love. I can make a career out of something I'm passionate about, and I can be one of those people that can say.... "I love my work and because of that I will never work a day in my life." I think that if you find what you love to do and do it, you are glorifying God by using the gifts he has given you to honor him through your work, whatever that work might be.

So... I choose too start trying to live according to Psalms 37:4.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4
